FST has been developing embedded software since 1995. A pioneer in the industry, FST has a background in Real Time Operating Systems and portability both used extensively in defence work.
Between 1995 and 2000 FST translated this fundamental knowledge into producing outstanding solutions for some of Australia's leading process monitoring and control installations (BHP), defence subcontractors (GEC) and later within the emerging mobile telecommunications industry (Vodafone, Optus & Telstra).
FST's deep knowledge of software efficiency coupled with embedded systems and Linux proficiency led them to be contacted by Toshiba Japan's Digital Media Company in 2001, thinking outside of their usual square. To date, FST continues to provide R&D expertise to Toshiba in the field of graphics and embedded Linux.
The FANCYPANTS product suite, initially launched at CommunicAsia 2003 arose from the close collaboration with Toshiba and the identification of a gap in the Embedded Linux Graphics marketplace.
In 2004 FST began reviewing VeriFone International's requirements for the application of FancyPants to a new generation of secure financial transaction terminals at the Point Of Sale, with Verifone being a world leading OEM and having an existing base of over 12,000,000 devices.
VeriFone selects FANCYPANTS as preferred GUI and multimedia platform on the new MX800 range of terminals in 2005.
To date, FST continues to work with VeriFone and Toshiba, has bred an embedded graphics community through its partners and is working with customers world wide.
FST is a privately held company based in Sydney, Australia.
